New Server -- runs on Linux!

Folks:Just got this note from Glen, our list server owner. We're now running on
the new server, and I thought you'd be interested in the specs:For the techies out there, this change was from a Macintosh PowerPC 7200/90
(that´s 90 MHz!) to an AMD Athlon at 800Mhz. The disk I/O on the Mac was 5MB/s
and 40MB/s on the new PC. The Mac ran LinuxPPC, and the new system runs Linux-
Mandrake 7.1. The transition was challenging because none of the compiled
programs on the old system were compatible with the new one. Fortunately,
there were only about a dozen custom programs like this - the rest was
standard
stuff supplied with Linux. For the adventurous ones, Linux-Mandrake is not
only stable and virus-free, it does everything my family needs - my wife runs
it on her Laptop, and none of the software cost a cent.Dave Shoemaker
