Avoid the off-ramp of self-righteousness. Integrity calls you to suspect and inspect your motives. Are you really doing this to bless, encourage, and help? Or do you actually have a strong interest in chalking up a few points for the home team? Do you hope to be proven right? To be vindicated? To emerge as spiritually superior? Who are you intending to serve – [the other] or yourself?

New Virginia Knowles web site, plus Joanna wins Photo of the Day

Just a few little things...
 
First, my new web site, http://www.VirginiaKnowles.com, is up and running, thanks to some help from my daughter Rachel.  We had a lot of fun with it!  I have packed it with all sorts of goodies, so please visit it and let me know what you think.  I am open to suggestions and additions.  Also, if you haven't yet replied to the Hope Chest survey I sent out a while back, it's not too late!
 
Each month, I would like to put up one or two new educational links pages on my web site.  The first month will be "General Reference and Teacher Helps" (such as Wikipedia, Dictionary.com or Enchanted Learning) and "World Geography."   If you know any great links on these subjects, please send them along as soon as possible.
 
If your last Hope Chest issue (Grace and Truth Edition) had odd symbols mixed in it, let me know, and I will send you another copy.  I think I am going to have to switch to Times New Roman font (which I am using right now) since my favorite font, Georgia, is not accepted as well by some computers.
 
Finally, my daughter Joanna's picture of a lily, entitled "Translucence," won an on-line Picture of the Day contest for May 1st.  You can click http://www.benel.com/powershot/pic-of-the-day.php to see the picture and rate it.  If her picture gets the highest ratings for the month, she will win the Picture of the Month contest.  It is a gorgeous picture!  If you are voting for her picture, it has to be done today, I think.  However, if you are accessing this site on a different day, you can always find the May 1 photo by using the archive right there on the site.   If you would like to see other beautiful flower and adorable Melody pictures that Joanna and Rachel have taken recently, visit their own photo blog at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/pictureperfect.
