our update

Brandon started a new job Saturday working in the one and only convenience store here. Sunday afternoon, he hurt his back stocking the cooler. He couldn't stand up or walk. He wanted us to take him to the hospital but I told him to call the ambulance as dh and I didn't want to sit in the ER for hours or leave our other children that long. They didn't do x-rays, diagnosed him with muscle strain and gave him a couple of injections. Sent him home with prescriptions for Valium and pain pills but only 12 of each. I have no idea if he will have a job now. He's 25, in excellent physical shape, has belts in martial arts and has competed as a cage fighter and he gets hurt lifting a box??? Makes me crazy.

We had a nice weekend, attended church and a birthday party for the little girl my daughters babysit on occasion. She spent the whole day with us Saturday while her mom prepared for her party which was Sunday afternoon. It was fun having an almost-four-year-old here for the day but tiring too! The girls and I had gone to my mom's Thursday afternoon and spent the night with her. Did shopping and errands and came home Friday evening.

We worked around here all day yesterday trying to finish up projects. Back to homeschooling today and need to do laundry.
