PICTURE: Yosemite rainbow and lightening

Rainbow and lightening. Unusual Yosemite shot. I thought this was worth sharing.

If I were to take a picture of life around here, you would see us on our hands and knees planting and weeding. And climbing ladders to thin fruit and put netting over the cherry tree. Life is good. Every day is a treasure.

I took this photo back in July of 2006. After being evacuated from Glacier Point by Park Rangers, I went to another view point down the road and from a safe location spent the next two hours in the rain trying to capture a lightning bolt. Out of over 500 photos taken I was only able to capture one, the photograph you see here. The dramatic lighting from storm clouds clearing in the west and a partial rainbow forming during the lightning was the most spectacular split second I have ever, and probably will ever, see.
