I am having problems with the pickup on my Peavey E/A. Same guitar that
earlier this year I was considering using electric strings on to make it
easier to play. All it needed was the action adjusted and now it plays
great.

The problem now is I have to turn the amp up nearly all the way to get
any volume. It used to have lots of volume. I changed the battery, which
didn't help. The sound is clean, just quiet. If it were the battery
wouldn’t it be distorted? If there were a loose connection it wouldn't
work at all right? I am baffled. Am I missing something? Ideas?

I would love to upgrade to a better pickup system but that is not a
financial option at the moment.
