Poem: Searching Heart...
You've lost that spark that once shone brightly
"I don't have a dream", you sigh.
Your tears drown your pillow as you cry nightly
You wish that you could die
Run with the world and see what you're missing
When the evening turns to night
But close your eyes - don't see who you're kissing
He wants you only for tonight
Who really cares if you don't do what's good
Your search for pleasure can't wait
You do what you please, and not what you should
And your heart says that now it's too late.
Well let me tell you something that I have found true
From doing the same things that you've done
The world that we live in just never will do
You know Christ is the only one.
Sure there are hard times when you don't feel the peace
And they seem to go on endlessly
But the only answer that can bring some release
Is the Lord who has set you free
So don't waste your time chasing short fleeting pleasure
It won't satisfy your deep need
The love of the Lord is so great beyond measure
And it's still not too late to heed.
