Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper; O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, "Peace be with you." For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6-9 NLT
The current crisis in the Middle East has captured the attention of the world. Israel continues to be a "cup of trembling" among the nations. She fights for her existence against an enemy who will accept nothing short of her total annihilation. She must appease an international community that cries for peace, while guarding against an enemy who scorns peace. She seeks to ascertain the strategic targets that will most effectively weaken her enemy while facing an enemy who uses innocent civilians as human shields.
With all due respect to those negotiating peace, as someone else has said, peace agreements are only as solid as the word of those who make them. God commands His people to pray. Israel's Deliverer has not forgotten her, and His arm is not short. Let's continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for the safety of Israel, and that the strategies of the enemy assigned against her will be confounded.
