Thank you to those that have been praying for our family. My leg seems to
be healing and is at quarter size swelling today. Callie has healed
nicely....I treated her wounds with lobelia as it's worked for us before.
She has healed up nicely and she wanted to be an outdoor kitty again today.
She is limping a bit but appears to have just severely bruised the leg and
not broken it.The water situation is worse than feared. I'm trying to trust the Lord that
somehow I will see some blessing out of this. The break was worse than
feared. We are having to have to backhoe all the way from the well head to
the barn....quite some distance. They have to go 12 feet down due to the MN
frost line. I wish you could have seen all these guys standing around
scratching their heads this morning. My hubby, the plumber and the backhoe
guy...all in rubber boots. They were a comical looking group. Both the
plumber and backhoe guy are our neighbors and both have farms. They all
concluded that it was time to get this farm up and running RIGHT. You see
when we bought the farm we bought it from a guy that jimmy rigged
everything. We didn't know it at the time. He's a local contractor and we
wrongly assumed if there were problems the insepctors would catch them.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. We have started to feel like this place is a money
pit. However, two weeks ago when we were feeling like perhaps we should
sell, move closer to the cities, etc. We both felt we'd heard from the Lord
that we were to stay put. So much so that we had to do some serious prayer
regarding hubbies job because it was becoming so stressful for him. God
moved. Things changed rapidly and drastically at his work and many of the
problems have been solved. If God had not given me a peace that we were
supposed to stay on this farm a few weeks ago....I think I'd be a basket
case right now. I still don't know how we are going to pay for this new
problem. Both guys assure us that we'll work it out. Let's do this thing
right and get us up and running. When we bought the farm the automatic
stock waterer (the water comes from out of the ground and it constantly
fills with fresh water) was not working. Neither was the frost free pump in
the barn so we've not had water in the barn. I will have water in the barn
and the automatic waterer by the time this is all done. However, it's going
to be expensive and about $400 more than just stopping the water flow. The
guys tell me that if we intend to have this stuff fixed "someday" then we'd
better do it now because we'll have the cost of all the digging and plumbing
to redo again when we decide to have it done....meaning....$400 now or $1200
later. I need some peace. I know God has this in control but I'm feeling a
bit stressed out right now.Thank you for your prayers....Deanna....with a 50x 15 foot hole 12 ft deep
in her driveway! At least they've stopped the water flow for now.
