quiet...in the face of tragedy?

Posted by: stampinbookworm <stampinbookworm@...>

Our list has been very quiet since I came home. I'm wondering what everyone is doing? I've been crying more lately and fighting a cold at the same time. I also discovered this morning that I am full of anger...not at the tragedy but other stresses in my life from this past week and what happened yesterday. I've been on my knees asking for forgiveness for this anger and am hoping to work it out of my system. Apparently while we were gone to church and a special potluck afterwards, the neighbor allowed her daughter and a friend of her daughter's to go into the shed that I'm planning on renting from the owner of the apt complex where we live and paint the inside with handprints, symbols, etc. I tried to explain to her it was vandalism even if the stuff on the walls was not vulgar and went and bought a lock to lock on it until the management sees it sometime today. I learned a lesson on vandalism when I was 23 years old and my step daughter and my oldest daughter spray painted a house. We had to pay for the damages. The neighbor's response? it got them out of my hair for a while and it can be painted over...its no big deal. She doesn't own the shed...it would be one thing if she bought the wood, built it and then allowed the kids in there...but its another when it belongs to someone else. I don't think she gets it and that makes me sad and angry at the same time. When I refused to get the lock off last night so the kids could get their stuff out...she slammed my own front door in my face. I don't know anymore...am I wrong in my response to the vandalism or my attitude? Should I just give up and go sit in a corner and be quiet? Should I keep fighting when I am so tired of fighting?
