Ideally you would find the volume of the cabinet and the port, or the Thiele Small parameters for the driver you are replacing. Then you could find a comparable replacement driver by doing some math.
Or you could find a decent quality driver that is intended for use in a ported enclosure and just go with that. The results would probably be pretty good.
I've had very good success with Eminence bass drivers in the cabs I've built. This one looks like a good match for your needs and lower weight desire (although most of that cab weight is likely in the enclosure rather than the driver itself):
