Good problem Dave ! 🙂
My primary suggestion is to assign someone to study the speaker, and when he
sees a forward or backward roll of the hand, he changes slides. I suppose
that's to low tech for you 🙂

Logitech doesn't exaggerate so 30' is probably conservative with the receiver
on the floor behind the PC and old batteries. Then the output of the
receiver to the PC can be either PS2 or RS232, which with a good extension
cable will give another 30'?. I would get the TrackMan Live with the RS232
interface (COM port) and set it up to see if it was good enough in that
environment. With the understanding its just a cost saving experiment and
will probably need a line driver.

Then if required add a short-haul RS232 line driver. If you aren't familiar
with these contact http://www.blackbox.com/. These guys have great tech
support, I always shop around after getting their suggestions because their
prices are on the high side. However, last time I looked for one of these I
did get it from them, I think it might have been an ME755, it worked great.

<< Folks:

Got a problem! I've been asked to find a solution, so I'm turning to y'all.

My church has a rather large auditorium (seats around 800, is probably 200'
long). We have a computer connected to an attached-to-the-ceiling
projector for displaying words to songs, missionary updates, etc. Works
well -- that's not the problem!

Frequently we have speakers who are showing a presentation (generally
PowerPoint) and would like to have control of the advancement of the slides
at the pulpit. Wireless would be best, though (with great difficulty) we
could run a wire. The best radio-controlled "clicker" I can find is the
Logitech Trackman Live. I've used this personally in several applications,
but the manufacturer only claims it'll reach 30 feet. Woefully too short
of a range!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
