Re: Office 2000 Question

Stewart:

I've seen this happen one other time. It has to do with a conflict in the
background office applications running conflicting with the REAL
applications running.

Here's what you do:
1) Completely uninstall Office.
2) Make sure nothing is running in the background, and reinstall the suite.
3) Clean out C:WindowsTemp totally
3) Delete "Fast Find" and "Microsoft Office" from your start-up menu.
4) Re-boot.

You should then be able to get Word running just fine. I've never been
able to get a CLEAR reason that Micro$oft insists on those things running
in the background. Supposedly, it makes Office programs load faster -- but
I've never been able to tell any difference. They do take up system
resources, and even if you're running a mega-system, it's a waste of resources!

Hope this helps.
