Hello All!

I am new to the list and wanted to introduce myself. I am Barbara C. from the Land of Oz--Kansas, USA. Presently, I am working part-time in a Christian bookstore. I also homeschool our soon-to-be 9th grade daughter.

Reading has always been a passion of mine and, since I became a Christian, my "quality" of reading material has improved greatly.

Right now, I am reading The Blue Bottle Club by Penelope J. Stokes. It centers around four young women who pledge to make their dreams come true, writing them on pieces of paper and placing them in a blue bottle in the attic of one of girl's homes.

65 years later, the bottle is discovered when the old house is torn down. A TV reporter gets it and tracks down each of the women to see if their dreams did indeed come true.

I've read through the first woman's story and it was touching. I won't say if her dreams came true, but I will say that she learned that "God doesn't always protect us from getting banged up and bruised...And sometimes that's for the best."
