Re: Greshem Chronicles -- Lawana Blackwell

Dear Barb,

Thanks for popping in with comments on books! Our Bible Study meeting was
tonight at my house - we're studying Elizabeth George's A Woman After God's
Own Heart. And as usual, I won't be able to go to sleep for awhile - my mind
won't turn off!

These sound interesting! Our church library has them, so I could read them
at any time. Trouble is, I tend to spend my reading time on non-fiction and
I sometimes avoid fiction that's in a series because it's such a big time
commitment.

Have you read The Immortal by Angela Elwell Hunt? Very interesting book. I
finished that one just recently.

How do you keep track of the characters of so many books at one time? I
think that would be hard for me!!

My two youngest daughters (ages 18 and 20) are both reading Times and Seasons
- they really enjoyed the first two. We got it from the church library and
they couldn't decide who would read it first, so they're both reading it (at
different times of course) and they have two separate bookmarks.

Speaking of bookmarks... I use Post-It Flags that come in a little dispenser
- they have all different colors. You can move them as you get to a new spot
in the book. They have ones about a 1/2 inch wide and then some that are
about half as wide, which are really good if you're got a lot of spots to
mark. There are even some with arrows and you can use one to "point" to your
favorite passages of a book, for example. You can even write on the colored
part! I use these a lot in my piano-teaching. It saves lots of time to be
able to turn to the right song immediately instead of thumbing through the
book.

Another thing that really helps me in my walk with God is my journal. I
write in it almost everyday. I also love different color pens (mostly Gelly
Rolls).

By the way, did you read the Prayer of Jabez and what did you think of it?
Or did we have this conversation already??

Your Sister in Christ,
Susan
