What's your honest opinion of the book?

I enjoyed it -- I don't think it is the end all answer to everything -- just as I didn't this The Prayer of Jabez was.  But Purpose did cause me to think about a number of things concerning who I am in Christ and about worship and accepting others.  Now I need to quickly say that doesn't mean accepting others as in being tolerant of those who live in sin. No way! I mean things like.... well, I know folks who believe the only way to worship is quiet and reverent and others who feel you much be very demonstrative and really get into the service with hands up and dancing.  Often folks from one "camp" believe that the others are flat out wrong!  One thing that Warren talks about is that many of the things that divide the body have more to do with personal preference than with doctrine.

I also enjoyed the fact that he backed up everything he said with Scripture -- that book is full of Scripture!

I do fear it is going to be over commercialized ... like Jabez...and that drives me crazy!

So the bottom line for me is I liked the book and feel I "gained" from reading it.

Remember Who You Are!

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us,

that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
