Re: Times And Seasons

Posted by: bkobrien5 <bkobrien5@...>

Well, I finally purchased the 2nd in this series and took it w/ us on vacation this past week and read it and wished I had bought Times and Seasons as well. 🙂 I had read the 1st a while back at the recommendaiton of someone on this list. I had not read anymore because none of our libraries have it and I was cheap and didn't want to buy it. Well, I bit the bullet, and bought it. I decided I'm going to donate to our library that has book #1. 🙂 So today I went to Sams to purchase our milk for the week. Guess what I bought. 🙂 You guessed it, Times and Seasons. When I finish it, I'll donate it to the library as well.
These books are so wonderful. I hope the 4th isn't going to be the last, though. Any idea when #4 is coming out?
blessings,

OK -- Did I write a note saying I had read this!? I cannot even remember! I
read it last weekend and I have been under the weather this week and off the
computer, so I probably didn't write about it.

Needless to say it is a GREAT book! This is the 3rd in the Seasons series
that Terri Blackstock and Beverly LaHaye are reading. Please, if you haven;t
read these do so -- in order! Now what are the other titles......

Seasons Under Heaven
Showers in Seasons
Times and Seasons

So good! I am expecting a fourth book and my guess is it will be the final
one. This series centers around the lives of 4 neighboring families and while
there does seem to be 1 family in focus per book, there is a lot going on
with the others. In fact, situations over flow from book to book.

Times and Seasons looks closely at Cathy -- a single mom with 3 kids -- one
who is giving her lots of trouble. Cathy is about to get married and just as
her wedding shower is starting she gets a visit from the police to tell her
that her 15 year old son has been arrested for selling drugs. This is not a
fairy tale book that sugar coats reality. There are some hard lessons
learned, but there is such a picture of God's Grace and Mercy. Also, this
isn't an every thing turns out just perfect book -- it is more real to life
than that and for that I am thankful. There are lots of other things
happening here.... but to mention them would give a lot away to those who
have read previous books. So ladies - you will have to read this one
yourselves.

I love all of Terri's books and these with LaHaye are my favorites! (of
Blackstock books that is! -- please NEVER ask me to tell my absolute favorite
book -- after the Bible I have no idea what I would choose!)

Enjoy your reading!
