Re: Long-lived people

Maybe our shorter lifespan is not because of something we are or are not doing. Maybe the longevity of the first several generations of people is due to living under different conditions. One theory currently being circulated is that God originally created the earth with a water-shield around it. Such a shield would have eliminated chance cell mutations resulting from contact with the high-energy rays (UVA, UVB, etc.) that the sun emits. This would keep people's bodies in better condition for much longer. A second benefit would be to insulate the earth, maintaining a steady, warm environment. Such an environment would have allowed animals to live longer than we are used to, just as humans did. This is perhaps a reason for the giant size of the dinosaurs. The flood would have been in part from that water shield coming down. Check out www.drdino.com for Dr. Kent Hovind's fascinating & free mp3 downloads. I have really appreciated what he has to say.

Before the great flood people lived for a very long time. I wonder if it's something that we are not doing that is effecting us. Also in the book of revelation it speaks of death and hades being thrown out.
