Yes, and I don't mean to say I'm always right. But I still think I am 😉
Please bear with me:

A little further down this passage is said to lead to room G, and according
to the map that passage goes through the eastern wall.

And just below that we have a mention of the passage in the southern wall,
between room D and room F, where the S is placed on the map. But we can't go
into that passage from room D (as explained in the text).

Now if I'm still wrong, just go get the strait jacket and strap me down 🙂
