I remember that game, 'Sticky Situations'! I loved the fact that you had to roll to see what you did, not just pick the right choice. 🙂On Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 8:31 PM, stephen brown <doughboyinc@yahoo.com> wrote:Greetings.
I, too, have been thinking about different games from the "DragonRaid millieu", in particular a card game. One thing I noticed, though, is that outside the role-playing form, discipleship is harder to put into a game. For example: I remember playing a 'McGee and Me' board game when I was younger, based off the popular video series. It was kind of like shoots and ladders, except that going up or down on the board depended on answering questions on what you would do in a certain 'sticky situation.'
With an A or B choice, it was pretty easy to figure out which one was right. With role-playing, there are more nuances that are played out in a player's choices, like intent, attitude, and reasoning.
So, if one is content to have a game with a simply a Christian theme, then alternatives to the role-playing form can open up many wonderful possibilities.
My idea for a DR card game is to have a mission based game similar to Steve Jackson's Ninja Burger, with each player controlling a team of LightRaiders that attempt a mission each turn, and opponents trying to throw obstacles in the way, such as dark creatures and traps.

Greetings.
