There are enough changes that have to be made to the original that the
1.5 version may be a better idea. But, the Second Edition is really the
way to go, it makes more sense to make all the changes and additions and
revamp everything and really make it worth it to the customer to
purchase.
I agree with Joe here. Some of the Second Edition information has been made available already, and taking on the burden and cost of a reprint or 1.5 version would only serve to take away resources from 2ED.

It also takes a lot of time and effort to get to that point at all. I'd like to say that it will be making the rounds for potential publishers by the end of the year, but that depends on a couple of obstacles kindly removing themselves from the path. I'd be open to, and grateful for, any and all prayers you folks could offer for the next few steps along this path.

Actually, there's been few enough submissions of that sort of thing that a contest wouldn't really be necessary. It would be far better to just have everyone who's interested (and who's willing to put in the work of revision, rewriting, etc.) turn in whatever stories they've come up with. When we've collected enough and polished them all to shining, we can go ahead and publish a collection of short stories in conjunction with the DragonRaid realm. I think this would be a delightful thing to see, but it depends on all you enterprising writers out there.
I'm giving what attention I can to the new Fiction Writer's Guidelines. As soon as those are in good shape, we'll find a way to post them somewhere. Maybe we can look at making some sort of "official" statement that will open the door to people interested in taking part in the compedium.

that people have written for their own groups. Most did not really have
any scriptural teachings presented, they were just adventures for the fun
of it. I would not consider those to be true DragonRaid material.

Go for it. Don't wait for new published adventures.
> We have a writer's guide, but it mostly covers style and such, it does
not give step-by-step instructions on how to write an adventure. Use the
published adventures as templates to write your own.
Along with the Fiction Writer's Guidelines, I'm also trying to update the Adventure Writer's Guide with parallel information. The two go pretty well hand-in-hand, so entries and ideas for one should be adaptable for the other. Again, when this is ready to go, we'll find a way to make it available.
Thanks again for your interest in all this.
