Re: Phone Number formatting

Brian,

In the phone format example you provided you show it as:

”(aaa)-sss-ccc”

If you use the Area Code in parenthesis you do not need the dash after the right parenthesis as it acts of act separator.

(aaa) sss-ccc

My personal preference is to always include the country code in all phone numbers.

1-123-555-1212

An alternate I see often is using a period, or decimal point, as the format separator.

1.123.555.1212

It’s also important, I think, to always include the country code in front of all phone numbers in your Contacts list. If you happen to be in a foreign country, like Australia and you need to call home you have to have the ‘1’ in front the number or your call won’t go through.

That’s why I always add the country code in front of all phone numbers.

FWIW, just my thoughts on phone numbers.
