Folks, I'm very frustrated to report that AOL has followed Yahoo, to reject @aol.com and @yahoo.com emails sent from our email groups.   This is affecting mailing list services all over the world.  See http://www.zdnet.com/aol-yahoo-email-problems-show-limits-of-email-security-7000028783/

Please follow these guidelines until we have a remedy:

  1. If you or your subscribers want to post to your groups, they should not do so from any @aol.com or @yahoo.com email address
  2. they should subscribe to your group with some other address that is NOT a member of the DMARC consortium - as those DMARC ISPs may soon follow Yahoo and AOL
    1. Not @gmail.com
    2. Not @comcast.com
    3. Not @outlook.com
    4. Not @aol.com
    5. Not @yahoo.com
  3. complain to your ISP if they are any of the above.  This change is WAY too sudden, and they have no approval from the Internet standards body to make such a major shift in global email function without proper change procedures.

With AOL joining Yahoo, 30% of all email sent to our groups is now lost to 30% of our subscribers.

Those of you who are using email from the DMARC ISPs will see a big increase in bounce warnings.  If your only posters are from the DMARC domains, all email from your group will seem to have ceased for those subscribers, and your membership will likely drop off.  Again, I urge you to ask your subscribers to switch to other email providers than those in DMARC.

I will see if I can rush a solution for us, to get around the problems Yahoo and AOL are now causing.

Thanks for your help and patience,

Glen
