Re: calcium

Posted by: cyberkat <cyberkat@...>

I remember reading about calcium and women’s heart health.  Too much can be problematic.

Almonds and sunflower seeds and other nuts and seeds are high in calcium.  Also collards, kale and other greens.  Go Clara!

Our chiropractor said that you have to be careful with calcium. If you consume more than your body needs, it will be stored in your body, often around your joints. Some forms of calcium aren't absorbed very well. Also, getting calcium from food is usually much better than taking supplemental. There are many veggies which are high in calcium. I'm sure I've read other stuff about calcium as well, but this is what I'm remembering right now. Lisa NM
I take magnesium daily.  I think we get ours online from Pure Bulk—cheap.  I mix the powder with water.  I don’t take calcium because I probably get enough dietary calcium and I have heard that too much is bad.  I don’t remember where I got that information.

It is good to observe things.  Right now I’m thinking that I need to back off of peanut butter.  I am doing well without beans, and peanuts are a legume.  I am thinking that something is making my blood pressure go up at certain times.  Sometimes it is just perfect, and sometimes way out of line.  My goal is to control it without medication if possible.
