Have you ever made jelly before? Make sure you understand basic jellymaking
principles. The Joy of Cooking has an excellent section on jellymaking.

Crabapple Jelly
wash, quarter and remove stems and blossom end from crabapples. Place in
saucepan and add water till you can see it through the top layer of fruit.
cook uncovered till soft. drain in jelly bag. (or use a cloth diaper with a
colander. Make sure the diaper does not have fabric softener in it.) do not
squeeze. cook no more than 4 cups of juice at a time. for each cup of juice
use 3/4 to 1 cup of sugar. Use stainless steel or enamel pan. do not use
aluminum, it reacts with the juice. bring juice to simmer and let simmer
uncovered for 5 minutes. add sugar and stir till dissolved. cook the juice
for ten minutes more and check for jelling. spoon a small amount of juice on
a spoon and let cool a little. pour off side of spoon. if it flows in a
sheet instead of dripping it is ready. Pour in hot sterilized jars, leaving
1/4" headspace and process in boiling water bath 5 minutes for 1/2 pints and
10 min for pints. Allow jars to cool. clean and check seals.

You will not need commercial pectin because apples are naturally high in
pectin. I use a litte apples in my grape or blackberry jelly.
