Yes...part of it would be stress. The other part is your body is producing more hormones than normal. I'd get checked out asap! My mom's periods got heavier and more frequent as she got older...she ended up having a hysterectomy at the age of 44.

I have birthed 4 children and nursed through 2 years or more. After 3rd
just before getting pregnant w/4 started having period every 3 weeks.
Then preg, started again in April, going every 4 weeks until Aug.
Started Aug 4
Aug 28
Sept 25
Oct 11

All regular length cycles. Any ideas why I am now every 2 weeks!! Could
it be stress!!!????

Any thoughts??
