I do indeed have a bite. Just what it is...we'll never know. It was not
from a brown recluse spider. The doctor said that the flesh would have
already been rotting by the time I finally got around to seeing the doctor.
He also said there is nothing they can do to stop the flesh from dying if it
is a brown recluse...useful information nonetheless. However, I'm on a
megadose of antibiotics (yeast infection here I come). Often I don't take
antibiotics even if the doc happens to prescribe them. I go home and treat
herbally or with colloidal silver. However, this time I'm taking the drugs.
The doctor told me that I have a bacterial infection spreading throughout my
right leg due to the bite. That's why I'm tender in other areas of the leg
not near the bite site. That I can't mess around with this. I have to
watch it closely, stay on benedryl till the swelling goes down, ice, etc.
If the area starts to ooze I have to go to the hospital. He said this
infection spread very rapidly.I come home to my still streaming driveway, son goes out to check his traps,
comes back quickly and starts banging on the garage door. In frustration I
finally go to see what is the matter. Assuming he wants me to limp to the
door to see the catch of the day...well I guess I was right. There is his
arms is Callie. Our much loved, spoiled Calico cat. She had been caught in
one of his traps. I spent the next half hour cleaning her up....she'd drug
the trap through the creek though it was clamped to her front leg. The leg
does not appear broken just injured. She was so good. She just let me take
care of her. Davey said when he got her out of the trap that she jumped in
his arms and wrapped her paws around his neck in hug for dear life. Callie
is now playing the queen of the house curled up in a chair in daughters
room. I'm going to watch her to see if she'll use the foot. I can't get
ahold of the vet so it would probably be tomorrow before he would do
anything anyway.I guess when it rains it pours...or when it "bubbles it fountains" in my
case......Deanna (the water is bubbling out of the ground at the main break
and thus my new personal quote!)
