FRUIT FLIES
This is how we handle fruit flies.
1) locate compost pile some distance from house
2) take all decaying fruit and vegetables from garden area to compost
3) whatever is attracting fruit flies in the house has to go into the refrigerator, into the freezer, or to the compost
4) vacuum up the remaining critters (we have a Rainbow vacuum which drowns them--if you have a paper bag it needs to be disposed of when you are sure they are dead)
