During your break, we gave our chickens away and bought a boat. Feed prices kept increasing here, and we wanted the freedom to be gone boating without having to line up help to tend the chickens. We were spending $32 for feed every 4-6 weeks. Since they've been gone, about a month or so, we've spent $1.50 for 18 eggs sold by a rancher through our little hardware/feed store. We had collected quite a few eggs before we gave the hens away which took weeks to use. I anticipate spending $10 or less per month for eggs for our family, and we are free to come and go as we please.

I spent most of yesterday on the phone lining up people to stay shifts with Jan and for meals. Most days, I talk very little on the phone so it was a little overwhelming to talk to so many people. Some of them aren't accepting or are naive to the fact that Jan could go to Heaven pretty soon. They would tell me about all of their activities as reasons for not having time to help. I'm not talking about jobs or necessities, I'm talking about fun things that they like to do. Some of them are not willing to skip a fun activity one morning or afternoon a week to sit with Jan even though they claim to be close friends. One lady goes to several Bible studies each week, but didn't want to commit to time with Jan. I feel sad for her as she is missing an opportunity that she may not have again.

Today, I will make a few more calls so I can start getting next week's schedule of meals and helpers completed. I hope to get a few chores done around here and will be homeschooling the boys.

I better start making those calls. I hope everyone's day is awesome!
