We haven't turned the furnace on in over three years. When it was well
over $600 for 1/2 tank of propane, we switched to 100# or smaller to change
out when we needed it and have used the woodstove. Now we are doing the
coal so it is much better. We had to use the heat tape for the first time
last week when it was -20 on the drains. Had water coming in, but not
going out.

This is when I am so glad for wood heat. We do use some electric for the
trough and a couple of spots to keep them from freezing. >>>
