I got out my blue flat sheet yesterday and hung up in our picture window.
Also dug through some old stash and found deep dark blue material I made
cafe curtains out of. Hung those up all through the front windows. What a
difference! I also have a full length screen door for ventilation, however
the sun soaks its heat through there too. So I found a wood type venetian
blind and hung it between the steel door and the screen door. I just drop
it and it cuts that heat, but not the air. We are short, eh hem, I mean
vertically challenged people so when we pull it up it still doesn't get in
the way of use of the door.
