Re: knitting socks

Vaughnde,

Are you thinking of the knee high cable knit socks? If so, Shetler's Catalog
used to sell them. The Amish are very fond of these socks as well. Eddie
Bauer and the Hanna catalogs also sell warm knee high socks for women. So
does the Vermont Country store catalog...Deanna

Subject: [HomeSteadHeaven] knitting socks

I have found that they no longer sell the knee high socks of my childhood
and I love these the most during the winter...summer I go barefoot in
sandals....and we really need some of these for this winter to complement
our long johns since we are wearing long skirts and dresses alot now. (Naomi
is wearing long shorts today as it is nice and warm outside). I have a
sensitivity to yarn...so was wondering if there could be some ideas out
there on how I could go about this. Is there even a knitting machine that
does socks? or is there a husbandry type thing out there somewhere where
someone knits socks for a living? I could use some ideas and thanks bunches.
