Hi Pat,The trees here in New England are starting to put on their unique display. Nowhere on earth can one see God's most wonderous colors than on the side of any road in New England during the Fall Foliage season.
I work right on Rt 128 in Woburn and you're right, the traffic is the pitts. I am lucky though, I can take all backroads to get to and from work. I grew up in Lexington and then purchased our little (5 acre) farm in Wilmington 7 years ago. We heat with wood and have our own well and septic. We have a gasoline powered generator for when the power goes out so we're all set. I grow a small garden for fresh vegies but as of yet have not gotten into canning and preserving food. We also have a large flock of ducks, geese and chickens that provide us with all the fresh eggs we (and all our friends) can eat.
If you're ever planning another trip to visit family, let me know, I'd love to meet you somewhere. I also have friends in Stoneham and Reading.

Hi Serena,I grew up in Medford and my family all lives in Stoneham and Reading. I sure miss the fall there.
Saw that you work in Woburn. Lots of traffic on 128 and 93 these days I hear.
My husband and I moved away from massachusetts 19 years ago, but I get back there whenever
I can.
We have a small BrassFlame woodstove that is air tight and it heats our house up just fine.
We had the same type stove when we lived in the mountains of Oregon and it kept us
warm even when it was lots colder than it gets here in Texas !thanks for the idea about the cinnamon !
Lovingly,
Pat
