The Euro has next week's storm headed right for Central Ohio!
FOR WEATHER GEEKS ONLY: Just getting the ECMWF model in and next week's storm is a huge one! If this verifies... we'd be looking at a classic storm for Ohio with low pressure moving up from Texas and Oklahoma into Central Kentucky. The snowfall projections are above a foot across nearly the entire state.
The ECMWF brings snow into Ohio late Tuesday afternoon and dumps heavy snow overnight Tuesday into the day Wednesday. This model has temperatures well below freezing in the middle to upper 20s and then dropping below zero by Thursday morning next week.
This is the second model today to track this storm into Ohio next week. The Canadian GEMS model had a "bulls eye" over Central Ohio as well. The GFS continues to move the track back and forth from north of us to south of us and now back north. I anticipate more variations with the models... so we need to keep an eye on how all this plays out.
If you follow my "GEEK" posts you know I'm predicting a major pattern change with a snowy month of February. This would be a heck of a way to start the month!
