Jesus did not speak against homosexuality specifically, but neither did He specifically address many other sexual behaviors, such as incest, bestiality, and rape. That doesn’t mean that they were permissible. Jesus consistently upheld the Old Testament law. He stood against all legalistic attempts to narrow its intent, and He maintained that the law addressed both behavior and attitude. He consistently spoke for marriage, and He indicated that the only alternative to heterosexual marriage was celibacy (Matt. 19:12).

Sharon,
I appreciate everything you have posted since I've been on the list. My post
was not sent as a reply to anyone in particular, just an example of someone
who doesn't pay attention to all the different fads and trends and just
keeps on doing what he feels is okay for him. As a wife, I have been guilty
so many times of trying to be my husband's mother and/or Holy Spirit, so the
food area is just another area that I've tried to be boss. I'm doing the
Bible study from Doorposts on submission, so I'm really squirming as I read
through the many scriptures on what kind of wife I should be.

Anyway, I'm praying for your family situation with your son and have started
faithfully praying for my son every day. I should have been diligently
praying for him rather than trying to lecture him into conviction.
