Men, can we ask for a better object lesson? As we nourish and cherish our own bodies (Eph. 5:29) and as Christ nourishes and cherishes His body, the church (Eph. 5:29), we should nourish and cherish our wives! Yes, we all fall short. Yes it takes the much selflessness and effort and grace. But the expectation from Scripture is clear as to how we should love our wives.

Well,

I like having hubby close by, but there is one real advantage to having him
commute. It will give him time to unwind from his work and thus arrive home
fresher and less streesed than if he works 10 minutes away.

I used to listen to the Bible on tape while commuting. I started in Genesis
and by the time that Moses died, I couldn't wait to get back in the car to
hear what happened next! I had read it before, but you get it in such large
uninterrupted chunks that you can really see what a grand epic it is!

You might find that the transportation costs will eat up his raise. I know
that it cost me as much to work as I made. We figured that out when I was
called to quit and be a SAHM.
