I think you
are SUPPOSED to move here!!! =)Hey Marci,
The general manager at dh's co-op is retiring the end of the year and the
new one is to be announced October 1....he has said he will look for another
job if a certain man is hired for that position, so we'll see 🙂 One of his
concerns about another place is the weather, mine has been the homeschooling
laws...how are they in Ohio? I know I can go to HSLDA, but I like hearing
from actual homeschooling families about what it's like in their area. Here in New Mexico, they just abolished the testing requirement, so no more
testing..PTL! We send in a notification in April, but they've also
abolished some of the other paper requirements like a calendar of days and
such. I don't know if we will have anything else except the one
notification. It's difficult for me to imagine schooling in a state where
the laws were "tough" after having such an easy time of it here. Dh also
said he'd like to be in a position where he wouldn't have to find a job
right away since he's been employed almost without a break for the last 25
years. We should be able to sell our place here and make enough to pay cash
for a place somewhere else if we go to the right area. Dh is a hard worker,
very physically fit, and can do just about anything with his hands...build
things, fix things, you name it. Not a book man at all, but mechanical/hands
on all the way. I told him that's exactly the kind of person that needs to
own a farm. He is unhappy with the way things are changing in this
county with the gambling and drugs and all, but both of us are thinking any
move will have to wait until our oldest is on his own. Ds insists he plans
to move soon after he's 18 so that's only a few months away. So, we're praying for direction and I'm really praying God will guide Mark
in such a way that he knows it's God without a doubt. Also, my parents live
just 30 minutes from us, have lived that close during our children's lives,
so that would be a big adjustment. But, they have different values and
attitudes than we do, so there are days when I would really appreciate a
little space to live my life without their opinions. If I do get even close
to Ohio, I'm comin' over to your house for a visit! Blessings, Lisa
