Hi Pat,
I was on a list for big families, mostly adoptive families, and so many of
these moms have experienced exactly what you state here. One lady has
adopted several RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder) kids and has been through
more horrible things than I can imagine. A couple of her girls had
everything possible done to them by their parents and now she's trying to be
the mother they never had when they were young. But, with RAD kids, nothing
traditional works at all and many outsiders blame the adoptive mom or
parents because the kids put on such a front for strangers. Another mom on
the list had to finally have her daughter placed into a residential
treatment center because of the awful things she kept doing. She would have
BMs in the tub and then sit in them, many of her behaviors had to do with
body wastes and nothing fazed that girl!
I know you get through each day by holding on tightly to God's hand and
trying to see your child through His eyes....thank you for what you are
doing for Him.
