i have had the book since the year after it was published. It is a good
cookbook, not great, but is chock full of propaganda and misinformation
in sidenotes. Unfortunately, the socialism/liberalism that has struck
many churches has also struck the mainstream mennonite congragations, I
speak as a mennonite who recently left the local church because of
leftist/contemporaryt cultural phsycology pap. Fact of the matter is, a
person can live without carbohydrates if they do not eat too much and get
plenty of exercize. they cannot live for long w/out proteins and fats.I hope this will not degenerate into an argument, but i do encourage you
ladies to do some reading outside the loop....i fell into the "diet for a
small planet" type stuff for a while until the blinders came off. There
are several excellent sources that are accurately footnoted and
researched. One thing to consider: those with limited food sources are
not doing it for health reasons! It is not their CHOICE to be eating such
a fat/protein low diet. There is no glory in malnutrition and poorly
formed babies. Why do you think so many die after weaning? LACK OF
PROTEIN AND CALCIUM. animal products provide essential vitamins and
nutrients unavailable (poorly absorbed and digested) elsewhere. Why do
you think they eat termite/bugs, etc?On Mon, 15 Oct 2001 21:30:34 -0400 "Esther Mack" <esthermack@hotmail.com>
