This community sounds wonderful...like a dream made in Heaven. I'm still leaning on where the Lord will lead. Will see if He wants me to stay in Montana until Naomi is 18 or move before then. My folks are not too happy about how I am raising Naomi. I'm hoping that maybe in a couple years, I can send her to friends for a summer to learn about farm living and see how she likes it. I might tag along at that .Vaughnde Edwards

In all honesty I would have never "picked" Texas since I am from New England and
just love the cold and snow. But, God's plans for us are always best. We left
Oregon because of my husbands work, and ended up here.
We paid $18,000 for our three bedroom home, on a small piece of land 10 years ago.
We live within the city limits, yet we are able to have animals.
Land and houses are still very reasonable in this area. $40,000 gets you some
thing in the country now. $100,000 would get you something very nice.
One county away from us is cheaper yet. We are only 35 minutes from Ft Worth
so our little town is still country, but still close enough to drive to work in the big
city.
There is almost no unemployment in our area. Jobs are easy to find if you are
not an executive, then you need to go to the big city. Taxes are not bad.
People are sooo nice. Homeschoolers everywhere. Our thrift stores are full
of modest clothing, like long skirts and jumpers. Its really the Bible belt here.
We are only 13 miles from a conservative mennonite church, one my boys attend.
We have can always have two gardens a year, and sometimes we sneak a third
crop of some things in.
Were we are we have snow almost every year, granted its only a couple inches, but
enough to have some fun with.
We have 4 months of summer. And its hot, but not as humid here as in east Texas or
south.
I have grown to love it here and cannot imagine living any place else. The cost of living
is good, and there are just so many wonderful people.
We do not lock our house doors unless we are gone for the day. In our little town of
5,000 there has only been one murder in the towns history. Its a great place,
Lovingly,
Pat
