Re: re:Pebbles

You all have me scared right now! Ugh! What on earth is it caused from if
that is indeed what it is???? Does an abcess break open eventually is that
how it is spread? It isn't leaking anything at all. What will happen if it
spreads? Is this thing deadly? Or just a nuisance? I will be sure to call
the vet in the morning. Pebbles will be mortified if I take her away from
her mother (even though her mother isn't too fond of her like she is her
healthy siblings) So much money lately is going to the vets around here.
Please pray I can find a vet to help me. Thanks all. Love, Julie

I have to agree, it sounds like an abcess. In the Caprine Supply
catalog, I don't have mine
right in front of me, but I know they carry some kind of vaccine now
that is supposed to
help with that problem.
Abcesses are a goat keepers nightmere, and I would be willing to try
this new vaccine if
I were you.
I have had many goat friends, ending up selling their entire herd just
to get rid of the problem.
You need to keep her away from all the other goats. And if you take her
to have it lanced
make sure no pus get on anything, gates, dishes, other goats etc.
