Re: soap making

Posted by: Goatsnsoaps <Goatsnsoaps@...>

HI Debby, the only soap I make is goats milk soap, but I have some excellent
books with great recipes.

The complete Soapmaker by Norma Coney
Natural Soapmaking by Marie Browning
Handmade Soap by Tatyana Hill

Some good web sites are Brambleberry.com, wholesalesuppliesplus.com,
pinemeadow.com, another good resourse is a discussion forum that I found at
soapmaking.chatboard.org Here they have recipes and answers to just
about any question you might have. If you would like a recipe for goat milk
soap let me know. Before you spend a lot on molds, a mold I use is the
containers that the jumbo size muffins come in at the baker dept. in the
grocery store or sams club. The make a great fluted mold and their free!
Olive oil makes a really hard soap and its probably the cheapiest to make if
you're just starting out without buying a lot of expensive oils. Coconut and
Palm oils make a lot of bubbles, and there are various other oils that add
their own individual properties for different results.

Hope that helps

Jodi
