Greetings in the Precious Name of Jesus !Our electric bill is about $50 a month. We have no dishwasher, except children, no clothes dryer,
just a solar wind generated thing that consists of two poles and a line. We use kerosene lamps
in winter. We have wood heat with gas wall heaters as back-up. We do have a freezer, washer,
refridgerator. The computer is on most of the day. In summer we have a higher bill due to
air conditioning. My daughter is diabetic and cannot get too hot. We do not leave llights on
needlessly. We try to go to bed early and rise early. All our floors are wood, so they are swept and
not vacuumed. I own a vaccum for furniture cleaning once a week, but that is all.No one here has more than one washer load of clothes. My daughter may now, so I take that back.
She is 18 and buys some of her own clothes. We have only two sets of sheets for each bed, so there
is never tons of laundry to do, no washer running all day.
We store grains and other food items,so there are not many trips to the stores.
The more we stay out of the stores the less
un-essential things we bring home. Like fabric for me to use some day !
I love fabric and those $1 a yard sales at our Wal-Mart are hard to pass up !I sew most of our clothing, except the boys shirts, I can buy them easily at the thrift store.
We have no debt, no house payment, no car payment, no credit card payment, no loans
of any sort. Our food bill and feed bill are our greatest expenses each month, and we
keep tight reigns on both of those. I have never worked since I was married, so we have
had to learn to live tight for 23 years. Its been nothing but a blessing. We don't go out to
eat, we don't do fast food. Maybe that makes us cheap or frugal, but it sure makes things
simple.Just how we do it around here
Lovingly in Christ,
Pat
