Here's my two cents worth. While God's Word calls for men to lead where possible, practically women have to be involved. We have just looked past that fact for years. Though not written, I'll bet you the wives of these men selected were involved in their serving. You have to examine the purpose of their being called to serve. It was for a specific task & there was not a leadership meeting for them to make decisions about the future of 1st Church in Jerusalem. A further study of Acts will reveal women being called out by Paul as "deacons" (servants) in its purest form. Wish I had more, but maybe this will be helpful.Pastor Harold Phillips-------Original Message-------<div dir=ltr style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt" From: pastormail@welovegod.org<div dir=ltr style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt" Date: Wednesday, April 24, 2002 14:25:55

Hello Brother Pastors,
I have a potential problem that I need to quickly get some help on. In Acts Chapter Six, there is been much confusion of the Biblical Role of the Deacon in the Church. (Acts 6:1-7)Probably many churches have this same situation as well. I guess I have heard as many different interpretations of these Verses as there is people in the church. I need some advise and interpretation of Acts 6:1-7. Does anyone have any resources that I could go to or I will intertain your thoughts on this as well. Thanks for your help Brothers and God Bless.
Brother Wade
