The Golden Years

1.      From Gatorade to Geritol

a.      We all change and mature; daily growing older

b.      The key is to grow old with Grace.  Trusting in God for all things while seeking His Kingdom more and more.

c.      Grow from high energy to even higher wisdom

d.      Younger and quicker to older and better insured

e.      Remember that even though the things in your life will change God never will

Proverbs 20:29 “The glory of the young is their strength; the gray hair of experience is the splendor of the old.”  (NLT)

2.      You are never to old for God

a.      Noah was 600 years old when his boat began to float.

b.      Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 when Isaac was born

c.      Age is no excuse for not being obedient.  God uses experienced saints to fulfill His Will and to teach the young whippersnappers the ways of Faith.

d.      There is no earthly retirement plan for God’s Children

Psalm 92:14 “            Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.”  (NLT)

3.      You will never be alone

a.      God is with you in your “empty nest”

b.      God is with you when you live alone

c.      God’s love for you never changes or diminishes

d.      He is there to bring you comfort and hope

Isaiah 46:4  “I will be your God throughout your lifetime-- until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”  (NLT)
