“Love your neighbor as yourself” does not command, but rather presupposes, self-love. All human beings love themselves. Furthermore, the self-love Jesus speaks of has nothing to do with the common notion of self-esteem. It does not mean having a good self-image or feeling especially happy with oneself. It means simply desiring and seeking one's own good.

Dick and Jo-ann: And this Southern Baptist loves you too. But because of the risen Lord we both have. You know Him as Messiah Y'shua and I know Him as Jesus. He is still the One and Only Living God. Savior, Prince of Peace, Lion of Judah, etc. He has many names but all knees will bow at His name!
 
Jack, may your trip to Chicago be a blessing to you. I was in California this past week for the Purpose Driven Church Conference. What a blessing. My prayers will be with you.
