It is no fun but they can be made from things like Polar fleece. Just sew a
tube as long as you want it and wide enough to go completely over your head
an neck for when you want it down rather that up and over your forehead. We made 'cuddlewraps' at church recently and I want to do one of those, too.
That is 2 yards of Polar fleece and the selvage edges are going to be where
your wrists are. The cut edge will match the cut edge. Following me? And
then you sew in from each end as though you are making a tube. But only
just so far. Your hands are going to go through these 'sleeves' and one cut
end will be at your neck, one at your waist. But TWO yards will make one so
generous you will find it much lower...and you can probably nearly wrap up
in it as you sit. This is like my shrug I knitted only quicker and bigger. And fleece
apparently does not ravel. You can cut strips (off the cut edge) about an
inch wide ( maybe less, experiment) and pull it....firmly... and it will
stretch and curl up into a 'yarn' that you can use to make a thick
blanket-stitch around an item of clothing made with fleece. Thread it
through a big yarn needle. Looks neat. Oh wow! Wonder if that is what
'chenille' yarn is??? Oh wow...... You would get a lot of 'yarn' for the
same price of yardage compared to the price of the skein of chenille
'yarn'.......My husband was hired at the hospital Monday and I can get fleece (Polar) and
make something. Bless his heart. It has been a long year. And the medical
benefits are good. Thank you, Father.I am so very blessed. We have dealt with inconveniences...not
disasters........blessed.....Sherri
