Re: Year Round Schooling

I think year round schooling works in the homeschool, and in the public school
system in the cities, but not out here in the country. Around here, kids need
to be able to help out on the farm, haying and such during the summer, and many
get jobs related to the fishing/tourism industry. Life is very seasonally
directed in the country, and year-round schooling in the public schools would
prevent them from participating in this type of life. I know many kids that
would be very disappointed not to be able to 'farm' with their dad's in the
summer.
Just a different perspective.
