Ohhhh, thank you!
I took one to the hospital to work on. I use three yarns together...but I
want to try one with three plus a fourth of a very fine thickness.....a
little more than thick thread. That is where the artistic thing comes in I
suppose......

i made one for Russ when we came to Missouri from Southern California..we
were cold...... I knitted it with four yarns...and long enough that I
pulled one end up inside the other end and sewed the two ends together.....
that left a rather long 'bell 'shape. Then I turned up the folded edge and
he had a cap with a wider 'band' around the ears than the usual rolled up
edge. So you have four yarns....double thickness of knitting and a double
extra layer at the ears. The California boy thought it was pretty good!
He has finally acclimated...
