Rhubarb

Posted by: bunchkin1 <bunchkin1@...>

Ok I have another question for you all. The lady that lived a few
apartments down from me has moved away, but left some rhubarb plants in
her little yard. The guy who moved in there is single and Im sure would
let me have some if I asked. But the problem is that the plants are
right in front of where the cars are parked, like 2 feet away. Is it
safe to eat something grown so close to car exhaust? Would the plants
absorb the fumes, or would the chemicals just wash off? I am hesitant
to eat anything that close to a car, but was wondering if any of you
knew whether it was safe or not. Thanks!

Rachel
