My favorite dual purpose chicken is the Buff Orpington. They are beautiful
to look at with shiny gold feathers and beautiful red combs and wattles.
They are quite docile and easy to handle even for small children. They are
good layers of large brown eggs. We got six eggs per week from them all
year round.
